Maple butterfly

Growth incites. Buds on the tips of a twig on the tips of a branch burst their winter shells, halt cyclists in their tracks. The butterfly wings of new leaves press together. Still shy of full growth, they begin to unfurl skyward.

Air released from one flows into the other, a process of give and take in a network with a mind of its own.
