A peek down the path
Walking down a favourite path off a beach at the sea, plump hedges have not yet grown over the dirt, tiny thorns from blackberry bushes, safe for birds and humans to pluck juicy berries, if there were berries. Too early in the season.
Despite cyclists and strollers, couples young and old, joggers, walkers, beer-haulers, picnickers, sunbathers, tourists — a moment arrives where neither human nor animal appears in front nor in back. All quiet and clear.
